Remains of a light beacon that stood on a rock outcrop in the River Forth to the west of the two bridges. It partly guarded the entrance to Rosyth Dockyard as well as the upper River Forth. Thought to have been built about 1846 it was demolished in 2013 due to the construction of the new Forth road bridge and the blocks taken ashore, where Fife Council Archaeologists recorded 8 marks from 4 different masons. More marks may still be revealed on these blocks.
