Priory founded in 1230 but by 1454 it had declined and had also been damaged by the Wolf of Badenoch in 1390. It is has been suggested that the nave of the church was never finished. It was left ruined until 1948 when restoration was started by Benedictine monks from Prinknash. Much of the medieval walling was fairly intact and restored survivals include the choir, side chapels, crossing, transepts and the east range of the cloister. New buildings now stand around the cloister site.
Project survey not undertaken. Marks recorded by Brother Michael of Pluscarden Priory; 39 marks recorded with 27 different masons.
